Academics
Rivonia Primary Education’s core business is academics. We offer a progressive CAPS-based curriculum enhanced, enriched, and innovated by the latest technological developments.
Our children are encouraged to pursue excellence in all aspects of their academic, sporting, and cultural experiences at the school. They have gone on to represent us proudly and have had outstanding results in their high school careers.
Our education is based on sound traditional values, servant leadership, and a collaborative effort that embraces a love of learning in a diverse, real-world environment.
Learner Support
The Learner Support Team epitomises a collaborative, interdisciplinary strategy for nurturing and steering pupils towards success. Comprising professionals from diverse backgrounds, this team offers comprehensive assistance tailored to each pupil’s needs. Central to their ethos is recognising that every pupil possesses unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations. With this insight, the team adopts a holistic approach encompassing academic requirements and social, emotional, and psychological well-being.
Through regular meetings and consultations with educators and parents, team members synergise their expertise to ensure pupils benefit from a well-rounded support network considering various facets of their growth. Their methodology characterises a staunch belief in early intervention, transparent communication, mutual regard, and a collective dedication to achievement. Through collaborative efforts, they pinpoint learning obstacles, deploy effective interventions, and empower pupils to surmount hurdles and realise their utmost potential.
Intramural Sporting Activities (Grades 1 & 2)
New Intramural Program for Grade 1 & 2 Students!
We are excited to introduce our Intrumural Programme, a brand-new initiative for our Grade 1 and 2 students, starting this year! Designed to foster a love for sports and physical activity, this programme provides young pupils with a fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate introduction to structured athletics.
Why Intramurals?
The benefits of this new initiative
Skill Development at an Early Age
Our programme helps children build essential motor skills, coordination, and sport-specific techniques in a supportive, structured environment. Early exposure to various sports encourages a lifelong love for physical activity.
Inclusive and Differentiated Coaching
The sessions cater to all skill levels, ensuring each child feels confident and engaged. With small groups and expert coaching, students receive personalised attention to help them progress.
Exposure to a Variety of Sports
Pupils can participate in swimming, hockey, cricket (for boys and girls), and netball (for girls). Rotating through different sports allows children to discover their interests while developing diverse athletic skills.
Teamwork and Social Growth
Intramural sporting activities emphasise collaboration, communication, and fair play. They help pupils build confidence and form friendships in a team-oriented setting.
Active and Healthy Lifestyles
Regular physical activity at a young age promotes better focus, improved fitness, and overall well-being, supporting academic and personal development.

Structure
Children are grouped into teams (Seals, Dolphins, and Sharks) and rotate through different sports.
Our Intramural Program is not just about sports but also about fun, growth, and discovery. We are thrilled to see our young learners thrive through this exciting new initiative.
At Rivonia Primary, we foster a well-rounded educational experience by encouraging our students to participate in competitive and non-competitive activities. This approach promotes balanced development and helps children build valuable personal and social skills. Sports play a crucial role in shaping these qualities, setting our students up for future success.
